Established in 2002, Quiet Storm Catering specializes in diverse, global vegetarian & vegan cuisines. Our trademark is our eclectic, multi-ethnic array of finger foods and dips.

We design each assortment to suit the event, taking into consideration every aspect – season, theme, guests. The final menus, which we leave to our clients' palates, are typically a mix of tried-and-true (creamy spinach dip), contemporary classic (stuffed grape leaves) and exotic (fig & green olive tapenade).

We prepare and serve finger food buffets, dinners, brunches & lunches for private parties, arts & cultural galas, wedding receptions, and nonprofit & corporate functions. We work with you to plan a menu which suits the whims of your taste buds and the size of your wallet. We offer service throughout your event, or simply drop off everything you'll need to host your own culinary adventure.

Colorful buffets are our specialty; multi-course sit-down dinners are not our forté, though we will consider any reasonable request. We also offer a small variety of meat & fish menu items, exclusive to our catering clients.

"Thank you for making our special day even more special! You did a fabulous job – we didn't have to worry about a thing." – Mary Moore and Robert Hanna

"Thank you for the wonderful job you did for our wedding reception. The food was tasty, diverse, creative and everyone raved about it... The service was simply flawless, and even a control freak such as myself could just relax and enjoy. We will be back to the Quiet Storm to enjoy your wonderful recipes." – Francesca di Poppa and Peter Muhlberger

"Thank you so much! You ladies did such a wonderful job! Everyone commented on how nice the food tasted and looked. It really helped the event have a sophisticated look. Thanks again!" – Judy Herilla

"Just wanted to let you know that the food you prepared for my husband's 50th birthday was a huge hit. All our guests raved about it, how unique and tasty it was. We barely had anything to enjoy the next day... boo hoo! Thanks so much!" – Susan Signore-Smith

"Thank you again for helping out with Second City this year. The event was a complete success! Our audience had a great time at the show and the happy hour, and they completely devoured and enjoyed your hors d'oeuvres. You guys are the best!" – Sara Werner, Pittsburgh Public Theater

"I volunteered for the holiday party committee at work and had the thrill of recommending Herbs & Spices to cater the much-maligned do... When senior VPs are standing around making yum-yum noises and loading up on vegan grape leaves, it brings a glow to the heart of the woman who recommended the caterers. Thank you, ladies!" – Kate Bonello, Mellon Bank

"When Jill and Sheryl showed up with the food for our recent AIGA Cuban Poster show, it all looked great. I couldn't wait to sample every last thing. More people commented on the food than the posters. I was pi**ed!" – Paul Schifino, AIGA Pittsburgh

"When I heard that Sheryl and Jill were starting a catering business my first thought was YAY, my second thought was YUM, and my third thought was SIGN ME UP FOR SERVICES! ...choosing the menu was easy, they have sample menus on-line. And even after I chose items, they were helpful in suggesting even more options that I had not noticed. This resulted in the perfect mix of delicious snack foods for folks to enjoy. The only problem with Herbs & Spices is that they offer too many options!" – Sharon "Mama" Spell

"Wow! Thank you for the fantastic lunch at the Pittsburgh Filmmakers retreat. Everyone here has commented how wonderful the lunch was -- yummy sounds were everywhere! Thanks a million!" – Dorinda Hughes, Pittsburgh Filmmakers
